****WELCOME FRIENDS****
I am artist of texture and color. I enjoy working with textiles, mixed media and the graphic arts. I am an avid cottage gardener with a love for pass along plants and big fluffy pink peonies and pink roses. Many of my tangible creations reflect my love of the garden and all its wonderful colors. I have been selling my creations online since 2002 beginning as a hobby. After 10 years I quit the day job to pursue my art as a full time passion.

Sunrise on Easter Sunday

It is 6:15 am, here I am with my coffee, dressed and ready to go to sunrise Easter services at our church. We have enjoyed a rare beautiful weekend of sunny warm weather here in western Oregon,. With all the Easter festivities of egg hunts with the granddaughters yesterday Easter sunrise is a special time to reflect on Resurrection Sunday and it's meaning. We are all saved by God's grace because our Lord died on the cross for us. So today, we rejoice for that!

Happy Easter!

Covered Easter egg challenge

As part of the Etsy Cottage Style community we have periodic Creativity Challenges. The most recent challenge was covering eggs.

Below is my entry as well as a short tutorial on how I made them.....

Starting with a wire basket I found at a thrift shop...I loved the handle!

I used styrofoam eggs, and used pinking shears to cut lots of fabric strips.
I prefer to use Fabric-Tac glue, it seems to work the best.

Starting at the top of egg glue 2 strips in a "X" fashion

Then work the next strips overlapping until egg is completely covered.

I also used snippets of lace and crochet on some of the eggs.
Added some raffia to the basket and viola!

The Dress Form Ball

Now that I ditched the day job, I am finally able to join in on one the parties that I really wanted to do last year, but did not have the time................Here is my "girl" and she is ready to go!

Meet "Floozie". My oldest granddaughter named her that when she was just beginning to talk. I don't know why, I think we may have been playing a game or I said that in conversation the same day, because when I asked her what we should name her she said "Floozie". So the name stuck.

Floozie is all draped in lace, glitter and bling...
I loaned her several of my most favorite necklaces for the ball...

She is bringing her Tattered Gypsy Lace hand bag too....

Her tattered gauze skirt is full of sparkle and a Goodwill bargain find!

Hope you are coming to the ball too!

Prairie Princess up-cycle

I have this passion at the moment. Up-cycling denim with vintage crochet and lace. I love the softness and charm old lace brings to the rugged fabric. So far I have up-cycled four jackets and am on the hunt for more. Funny thing is that I have not really been hunting for them...they are finding me when I am out junking and treasure hunting for something else.
So Today I am sharing 3 of my "Prairie Princess" jackets. One I already sold, but these below currently are in my etsy shop. (Links below each picture)Also I stumbled upon an embroidered denim jumper that I created a awesome handbag with.
