Laundry room redecorate

You know, at the first of the year, I always seem to get the redecorating bug! And now that we have been in our new home for almost 5 years, I am getting the itch.
Now it is the laundry room...and NO this is not my laundry room, just my dream one!

I wish I had one this large! But mine is just a pass thru from the garage to the pantry kitchen area. Why would I want something more? Well, we live on a corner lot, most of our close friends and family prefer to park in the driveway rather than on the street at the front entrance of our house. Often the phone rings, hey Debbi, open the garage door so we can come in...this so annoys me, but I have given up on asking them to park enter from the front. So the solution is I am going to make this small space beautiful french country and this photo is my inspiration.

I do have a couple of obstacles to overcome, like an apple green counter top, but there is not much of it, the floor is white, and the space is small so I may have to for go that wallpaper. Stay tuned for the reveal this spring. I have a lot on my plate the first half of the year, but now it's a for sure thing!

Lol that inspiration laundry room is the size of my kitchen! People do the samr thing...our garage is in the basement and they insist to come thru there.....it is unfinished! Jim's auto garage haven!!!! storage! I tell em the door is broken...not lying..it sticks..thank goodness. Noe they come in thru to back kitchen door. They pass the laundry room door down a long hall. I've placed all kinds of things on the wall to divert eyes to the opposite wall. They forget to look toward that louvered. Some one on another blog had a screen door all decorated country...I'd love to have something like that to hide the room. Oh well...someday. Have fun with yours. Ya know you could create a stencil to match that wall paper and there is a new self applied colorant for counter tops that is supposed to be very good..think at Lowes...but I think the apple green would be easy to work with. OOORRRR, yo could take vintage fabric with starch and apply to wall areas...easier than wallpaper and much easier to take off.
Just a thought.
P.S. Love the new ECS sites too

OMG....at first I thought...she's CRAZY...not happy with THAT laundry room! Then I read the post. I have a similar situation that I need to put some creativity too myself. Happy New Year from Houston!

That's a beautiful inspiration room. I've seen signs that say "backdoor friends are best" but I can understand why it bothers you. Our guests often use our back door laundry entrance too! Maybe we could make signs that say " backdoor friends annoy me" but have it done in French so no one will know but us! LOL!
