This year I had an opportunity to share a booth at a Craft Bazaar at the local middle school. I have to say I was a bit stressed going into this venture, but also a little relieved that the person I was sharing a booth with (Beki) knew her stuff. It was a long day, and I did sell more than I expected....but I also went in with the thought that I might not sell anything!
What I did learn was what will sell in this small town next year and I took notes while it was fresh in my mind....a big hug and thanks to Beki for giving me this chance!
Here are a few photos of our set up..mind you we were in a school gym, so the backdrops are not real pretty...

until next year....I think I might be up to one show a year....I like these small town events!

Debbi, Glad you enjoyed your show. I ended up doing four shows this year, two were with my 12 year old grandson. He makes wooden puzzles and Christmas Tree Ornaments. I like the small town atomsphere because they are much more friendly. Have a great week. Your Missouri Friend.
Good for you! We opened "The Roost" at Wade Creek House yesterday too...it was a blast! We'll have to do something together one of these days. The sign on your display looks awfully familiar. Can't wait to have a X-mas lunch and see you!
Of course you sold a lot your stuff is gorgeous! I have never done a show of any kind, it is on my bucket list. I would love to know what did sell, I bet your Christmas stockings, did little things sell?

Small town event are really great, but like you said, a BIT stressful. I love your choice of soft colors. All the items are so very beautiful. I hand bags are my favorites! As I said, very BEAUTIFUL! Your friends side is very beautiful also. Who doesn't love the traditional Christmas colors!! I'm glad you found someone to share the experience with.
Have a very Merry Christmas!

Fun fun fun, Debbi! I did my first show at an antique market this past summer and just loved it, too! Yup...it was a tuuuuun of work and I was so afraid that nothing would sell, but I did extremely well - AND met so many wonderful people, too! :)

Hi Debbi! Wow, it looked great!
I usually do 4 from Sep-Nov. but this year due to parents illnesses I wasn't able to commit. You know I have a hard time keeping track of time as it is LOL. Anyway, I have a 10x10 canopy I put up indoors or out. I utilize the electric available....some charge add'l $$ but it's not been much...
and I have a clip=on light in the roof center and It gives plenty of light/ambience I have pics on my blog from past shows...folks come in cause it's like a separate room and I do some sewing while I wait...and wait....and wait...hehe for buyers not lookers. I'm so glad you had a fun time and made sales
this is beautiful Debbi
It was so interesting to read of your first experience doing a craft event! I just participated in my first craft show early in Dec. too. It is quite the experience! So much planning, expense, old-fashioned work, and yes, stress! In my case, attendance was so poor at our little event that sales were pitiful, but I still thought it was a great learning experience! Like you, I found out what caught people's attention, who was most likely to stop and look, what might have been better about my display, and important things about setting up. One nice thing is, I have all my display items purchased and gathered now, so next time should be much easier.
Like you though, I can't envision doing fairs all weekend every weekend as some do summer through Christmas. A couple a year maybe.
Continued best wishes to you!
Your booth is extremely nice and appealing!
