I am artist of texture and color. I enjoy working with textiles, mixed media and the graphic arts. I am an avid cottage gardener with a love for pass along plants and big fluffy pink peonies and pink roses. Many of my tangible creations reflect my love of the garden and all its wonderful colors. I have been selling my creations online since 2002 beginning as a hobby. After 10 years I quit the day job to pursue my art as a full time passion.

taming Miss Mock Orange

Quite a beaut, huh?

But  HUGE Miss Mock Orange has to be tamed. I let her show her glory this year She has gotten so wild, she needs to be tamed.
She looks quite nice as you walk to the fence on the left, you see her~(Sally Holmes Rose at the right)

..her scent fills the neighborhood...

but....
when you get to the other side of the fence, you see how out of control she is....

so Miss Mock Orange is getting a severe haircut. There is a lot of growth on the bottom, so she won't mind and neither will I. But I must say, she did give one heck of show this summer:)

oh, her real name is  Philadelphus
in case you were wondering....

awww My mom had one in the patio, well actually along the patio roof. It smelled sooo good!! Yours is gorgeous, but I remember they can get a bit unruly.

I need to get one!

My mom loves her mock orange too. And yeah, they definitely need a good pruning so they don't look quite as shaggy. I guess no plant is perfect!
