My cottage garden is now in it's 8th season. It is different and sometimes better every year. The columbines are just glorious and so are the foxgloves, even tho they hung out under my Lollipop crabapple this year. The roses are just starting to bloom, so I will save those pictures to show you next week when they are at their peak
My little granddaughters "helped" me in the garden today if you want to call it that, they picked an awful lot of flowers. But that's okay, there is plenty for everyone....I had quite a bit of cross pollination this year on the columbines and foxgloves with some new colors too.
stop by next week for the roses.....

Love all the pretty colors.....those little ladies are pretty cute too!
Just beautiful!
May I ask if your foxgloves come back every year or do they skip a year? Mine did not come back and someone told me that they may come back next year..
Hugs,
Debbie
Gorgeous, Debbi! I can't believe how healthy your foxglove look! Mine look great one year and the next.....caploohie! They're gone. You must truly have a green thumb, girlie! :)

How beautiful it all is! You must like pink in the garden, just like I do :). And your granddaughters are so sweet - it is great that you allow them to 'help' and that you are developing a love of gardens and gardening in them.

To answer the questions about foxglove coming back--mine reseed like crazy. The blooms I have this year are from the new plants that seeded last season after blooming was finished. It helps if you let the blooms completely finish before cutting off the tops. I also compost every year and very healthy soil so everything reseeds freely. So I have to do lots of thinning all summer which is the downside:(
Such a fantastic garden, the flowers look so healthy.
I do not like to garden but have a few dear friends that do, so I enjoy going to their homes to enjoy their spaces of beauty.
Thanks for sharing.

Your foxgloves are beautiful! Well just everything in your garden is beautiful!I have foxgloves but they never look as good as yours. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely garden! Warm hugs, Esther
Debbi, Love the foxgloves and columbines. Everything is just lovely. I'd say you had pretty good help in the garden, sweet children and very pretty too. Hugs...Lu
You gardens are awesome, that foxglove is fabulous! SO are the pink girls!

I am so jealous of your foxglove..and to add insult to injury they reseed themselves??!! I have tried so many times to grow them. They must love you! LOL

What a lovely garden--the pinks are just gorgeous!
Absolutely beautiful. I used to have a large "cottage garden" style flower bed when I was younger. Miss it now. LOVED columbines and yours are beautiful.
So are the granddaughters! : )
Wow! Your flowers are just gorgeous.

What a lovely old-fashioned cottage garden! I hope you are nurturing another generation of young gardeners too!
Oh, the columbine are SO pretty! I only have one and was just saying the other day that I need more.
I'm a wee bit envious of your foxglove, being the only person, I'm sure, in Oregon who it refuses to grow for.
Stopping in from the Tuesday Garden Party. Glad I came by!
Beautiful photos..and love those special little ones!! Enjoy
Lovely pink foxgloves. My roses are starting to flower but, unfortunately, they're being rained on today quite heavily so there's petals everywhere.
Oh, you have some gorgeous plants, and many unusual ones I've never seen !
How delightful to see such pretty flowers! Your garden must give you so much pleasure!
Have a sweet summer!

Hi Debbie,
Your garden is to die for; I lovvvvve those hollihocks! Just beautiful.
What state do you live in to have such gorgeous flowers? We just moved to Colorado and the yard in plain. I'm concentrating on the inside of the house this year but hope to start on the flower beds next year.
