This butter dish belonged to my great grandmother...inside it had a note simply saying "Croesus". A little research revealed it was from the Riverside Glass company in W.Va whom were only in business from 1897-1901. My mom's only comment was don't sell it, it has been passed several times through the family.
This was another piece she brought--I have not researched it yet, I think it may be mid century Italian, but if any of my blogger friends know I would appreciate your wisdom. Mom's comment on this piece was that it was among her mother's things and it could have came from a thrift store for all she knew. I think it is a lovely funky piece!

Well, Happy Birthday a bit late! I hope you had a lovely one. And I'm sure that, with those family treasures from your mom, it was a special day.
Debbi,
Love the candle holder, the colors are beautiful. Belated Happy Birthday. I am finally feeling better and remembered that those of us that entered our boxes were able to pick up something, somewhere. That's all I remember, can you help me out here? Hugs, Lu
Both beautiful pieces. We never truly appreciate those family treasures until we are old ourselves.Lucky you have some.

What a beautiful way to pass down treasures to loved ones. Think I'll recommend this to my Great Aunt who has a family heirloom churn I'd love to have . . . . ha! Thanks for sharing such a lovely tradition. -- Jan
Dear Debbi,
Such beautiful things. Old things are better I think. Old things passed down in the family-even better. I hope you enjoy them and Happy Birthday.
