****WELCOME FRIENDS****
I am artist of texture and color. I enjoy working with textiles, mixed media and the graphic arts. I am an avid cottage gardener with a love for pass along plants and big fluffy pink peonies and pink roses. Many of my tangible creations reflect my love of the garden and all its wonderful colors. I have been selling my creations online since 2002 beginning as a hobby. After 10 years I quit the day job to pursue my art as a full time passion.

A visit to the Historic Shelburne Bed and Breakfast

A weekend away finally....not that I should be taking off during one of my crunch times for getting my website ready for the holidays, but I have wanted to visit this Bed and Breakfast for ages....I first saw it in Martha Stewart's magazine I believe. I thought, geez this place is less than 3.5 hours drive on the beautiful Washington coastline. So I talked some good traveling friends into meeting my hubby and I for a getaway. We reserved several months in advance to get the perfect rooms.

We didn't visit the right time of the year to see this cottage garden in all her glory, I bet it was beautiful. But the herb garden was pretty and there were still many of the container flowers blooming. the upside to this visit-all the summer crowds were gone.We pretty much had the place to ourselves!

I snapped a few pics inside....
there were many stained glass windows here!

great use of all the space!

below you can enlarge these pics by clicking on them to read the history of this Inn

Hope you enjoyed! I did.
I should add that the breakfast was quite yummy...I would certainly return!

Debbi, this is absolutely a lovely place and I know you're better for pausing during your busy schedule to take such a nice little trip. We need to rest and unwind to be effective.

Be well.

What a beautiful place to visit! There is nothing like a B&B. You always make friends there, it is just so intimate and personal! I will never forget one that we stayed in that had just one potty on the floor we were on! But the claw tub was soooo nice and luckily we were the only guests that night! Your blog is so fun! Thanks for visiting mine! hugs and smiles across the miles...

This sort of lovely abode is exactly what I would expect you to choose to stay in. It is lovely and so old fashion.
It sounds as though you had a delightful time.
Warmly,

Hi Debbie, So glad you got away for a B & B weekend. The place looks fabulous. Bobby G. and I did the same last week on our trip to New England. B & B's all the way. We loved every single one of them. xoxo
