****WELCOME FRIENDS****
I am artist of texture and color. I enjoy working with textiles, mixed media and the graphic arts. I am an avid cottage gardener with a love for pass along plants and big fluffy pink peonies and pink roses. Many of my tangible creations reflect my love of the garden and all its wonderful colors. I have been selling my creations online since 2002 beginning as a hobby. After 10 years I quit the day job to pursue my art as a full time passion.

a perfect summer evening!

Ah yes, on an evening like tonite it is so good to be home! What you are looking at is a pic I shot looking straight south from my front porch at dusk. These are the beautiful late summer colors of the farm land that surrounds our home here in Sublimity, Oregon. It is no wonder why the early settlers named this little town~just because of the "sublime" scenery. The half moon was so bright and not a whisper of a breeze tonite, a perfect summer evening in my book!

I snapped the photo below a few minutes earlier, on the other side of the house. I love when the fields are this beautiful golden color in late summer

Show off Monday!

A fun new activity over at Etsy Cottage Style Blog!

This is a project that I have been putting off for way too long and I finally did it this summer!
I snapped a picture of a version of these fun pillows at a local craft store below long ago ~I do know that it has been pinned to my bulletin board for at least a year....or more maybe!!

I used snippets of roses fabrics, vintage laces, crochet and tatting. Some hand rolled and ready made ribbon roses make them sooooo sweet.

The pillow above called the "My Party Dress" I used some beautiful vintage laces to form the skirt

This is called "Pretty Ballerina" with ivory tulle, tiny pearls and vintage handmade tatting at the neckline! Both of these pillows are available on my website, you can click on the pics to get there!

Lynsie's visit

It has been a while since Lynsie paid a visit to nana's blog. She got to stay overnight and has been busy after church today helping water the "flauw wers"

Lynsie found just the right size of watering can for the task at hand...

we must tend to this side of the porch as we follow nana with the hose

..and tend to the other side too....

...it is a really big job watering.....

My mini vacation

Usually we try to do a tropical vacation every spring, but didn't work out for 2009. So we have been taking some "mini" vacations. This last weekend we headed out for Three Rivers which is located in the high plateau country of central Oregon. The views are breath taking here at Lake Billy Chinook which is a reservior of 3 rivers--the Crooked, Deschutes, and Metolious rivers (hence the name of this recreational area). My daughter Alissa and granddaughter Lynsie came along with Jim and I as we joined our friends Kathy and Ron on their 5 acre property. This area is "off the grid" meaning there is no power, water or sewer. So it was dry camping! There also is a State park campground and forest service campgrounds along this large lake.
Ron and Kathy took us out on thier pontoon boat one afternoon too. I took the liberty of borrowing the slide show Alissa did for her blog to show some of the photos. Lynsie hated that lifejacket (and I don't blame her) but now in Oregon all kids have to wear lifejackets at all times when riding in a boat. In a couple of the pics I have her on my lap. I guess I was lucky there wasn't a full body shot of me LOL!!
