and this really is how my life has been!

I have a few pics to share, I have been so busy in the yard.

We have had some glorious weather here in Oregon and my cottage gardens and roses are soooo happy!

This is late spring peak in the cottage garden. Can you believe I started with FOUR columbine plants, TWO geum plants, and and SIX foxglove? This garden is 16 years old and I still struggle with full summer color, mainly in August. The hollyhocks will be up be next.

It's going to rain...

well, the forecast says rain tomorrow. Not unusual for June in Oregon, but we have had a beautiful month so far So with the rain on the way I decided it was time to grab a bucket and fill it with roses for a few bouquets to enjoy while it rains the next couple of days.

 Abraham Darby, Mary Rose, Glamis Castle, Shakespeare, Eden Rose, Angel Face, Golden Showers, and carnations...there may be a mystery rose or two in there.

 I loved this bucket full of roses so much, I decided to just leave it as it was and place on the dining table. No fuss with special arrangements!

This is my monster Sally Holmes rose at her peak. She will bloom all season, but the first show is the best. And to think this was just tiny 4" seedling when I bought her......

Fresh Cut roses

Really, it was a just a trip to put one fresh bouquet, but I couldn't resist. My roses are having a second go around after resting for a few weeks, So I gathered some of my favorite vintage and new vases and got busy.

This is what I actually set out to cut. David Austin Shakespeare and Glamis Castle roses with false Queens Anne lace. These 2 roses are both extremely fragrant.

 My most challenging vase--shaped like a purse, it has to be stuffed full to look halfway decent!  Zepherine and Mary rose and that mystery yellow rose that I still have not figured out what it is called.

 A big handful of cornflowers are always perfect in an old canning jar. My most recent find at our church parking lot sale, this 2 quart blue mason jar. Not a reproduction. I actually was there when the old guy brought in the box of awesome old jars.

  Fully opened Eden roses are so fluffy almost like pink peonies, they are awesome in this tin vase which I placed on my ladder planter stand.

 Someone asked me to photograph my ladder again when the plants had filled out, so here it is, I have had to replant some of the pots already.

First garden stroll of the season

Our spring in Oregon has been fabulous! On.Easter Sunday we had a rare 80f day---.then while we were in Hawaii the weather was pretty nasty here. But the sunny weather must have followed us home as we have experienced over 2 weeks of glorious summer--not spring--temps. This gave everything a big jump start, I actually planted my tomatoes 3 weeks earlier than I normally do. But unfortunately, this week we snapped back into normal Pacific Northwest spring weather with temps in the mid 60's and r*a*i*n...........

Today was overcast and a perfect time to get the first photos of the season of my cottage garden and what is in bloom at the moment. I had to start watermarking my photos recently, especially the ones of my garden and the products I sell since I am finding them all over Facebook and Pinterest. I might as well get credit for them, huh?

I really don't have a cupboard, I have a sideboard hutch that I display my collection of vintage German Porcelain along with a few other pieces of depression glass that I inherited from my grandmother.

I rally couldn't get good pics with low lighting, so the pics below are some I took a while back.

as  you can probably tell, I am in love with any vintage pieces with pink roses!

So I shared some white from the garden last week....last evening I grabbed my camera to seek out all the pink. What I found was the pallet our creator presents in pink has so more much detail I had not noticed before. I took lots of photos, but just a few were presentable...Enjoy!
