****WELCOME FRIENDS****
I am artist of texture and color. I enjoy working with textiles, mixed media and the graphic arts. I am an avid cottage gardener with a love for pass along plants and big fluffy pink peonies and pink roses. Many of my tangible creations reflect my love of the garden and all its wonderful colors. I have been selling my creations online since 2002 beginning as a hobby. After 10 years I quit the day job to pursue my art as a full time passion.

7 AM walk in the garden

Yep, it was 7 am and I was out in my piece of the world admiring these fabulous Lupines! **giggle** I just had to share!! My cottage garden is starting to show her summer glory with a fragrant show of perennials including columbine, foxgloves, geum, dephinium, dianthus, and more! The lollipop crabapple tree just finished blooming, and she will be a bird paradise when those tiny apples ripen! The roses down the way are just starting to pop open and I have plugged in a few annuals here and there for color later in the season.

I hope you enjoyed a couple pics! I will be posting more thru out the season. This is the fifth year of this cottage garden and she should be showing all her glory!

Memorial Day treasury surprise!

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all my blogging chums! I slept in for a change, well it was only 45 minutes later, but it felt good to not wake up to the alarm today. In my email was a nice surprise from Mary of Hoganfe Handbags, she had included one of my items in this treasury. Mary is a member of Etsy Cottage Style ning and also the etsy Cottage Style Street Team.

Thank you Mary for the honor!

Cottage Style container gardening

I thought I would share this post that I contributed as a guest author on The Vintage Journal blog last month--I am still planting and maybe you still are too!

As an avid container and cottage gardener, I am always on the hunt for something unusual to plant in besides a run of the mill plastic or clay pot! Below are some interesting and fun container gardens I have created in the past. As you can see you can plant in almost anything except gas cans. I have even planted in cowboy boots and tennis shoes. Your imagination is your only limit to the creative reuses for many container gardens!

Enamel roasting pan overflowing with marigolds--I added a little toy shovel accent

Metal canisters are perfect for narrow places where you need a splash of color

And the stand by metal watering can, overflows with blue lobelia.
(I slid in a gallon size plastic pot inside the watering can)

An old wicker purse lined with plastic was perfect
for bacopa and varigated geraniums

An old rocking chair placed in the garden~the pink
fairy rose loved to spread its wings here!

Old enamel refrigerator drawer is perfect for herbs

Toy rocking horse repainted hosts a basket of yellow marigolds.

I hope I have tickled your imagination for this years potted plants, as I enjoyed sharing it with you too. Visit me at my website Marionberry Cottage to see my other passion, textile art and my love of pink roses too!

Lynsie's walk in the garden

My little granddaughter Lynsie, recently took a walk out to nana's garden--things are not too colorful yet in my cottage garden, but hey, this is May in western Oregon, and summer doesn't really start until July 4th!

I just followed her with the camera as she explored...

quite a challenge to climb the pile of hens and chicks
to get to the duckies

but the bird bath splashing was even more fun!

a visit with bear bear was interesting... cute ears, but....

he is a bit funny looking, we think grandpa needs to
give him a new coat of paint

all done---Lynsie will be back when the roses bloom~
